It is a privilege and honour to serve as Chairman of Indian Maritime Centre. As India is racing to become the third largest economy in the world, it is imperative that a robust maritime sector is developed to sustain the growth. The maritime sector, supported by strong port and ship building infrastructure with latest technology, domestic shipping, highly skilled work force, sturdy support systems, and the modern IT infrastructure backed by strong policy initiatives and support can propel India as one of the top maritime leaders in the world, as envisaged in the Maritime India Vision:2030 and Maritime Amrit Kal Vision:2047. IMC, as a focal point for all the maritime interests in India will build an integrated maritime eco-system and act as a catalyst and enabler to achieve these objectives by encouraging interdisciplinary exchange not only within the sector but also with the Government, authorities nationwide and academic and research institutes
