Sub: Measurers undertaken by CBIC - for maintaining critical supply chain in the country 

FFFAI express it sincere gratitude to all members for their overwhelming response in the webinar held with Honourable Chairman CBIC on 6th June, 2020.  The theme for the webinar was Measurers undertaken by CBIC - for maintaining critical supply chain in the country. 

During the webinar Chairman – CBIC expressed his appreciation for the Custom Brokers community for unstinted support to Customs, by operating on 24X7 basis during COVID-19 lock down period for clearance of goods though the Phase-1 was challenging as there was restriction of movement.

During the webinar, Chairman – CBIC informed about launch of 1st phase of FACELESS program in Bangalore and Chennai.  CBIC has embarked on two major progressive reforms.

Faceless assessment, under TURANT program, on pan-India basis with the main objective of attaining timely and uniform assessment practices which would benefit to the trade. 

The CBIC has notified 1^st phase of the All India roll-out of Faceless Assessment effective 8^th June, 2020 at Bengaluru and Chennai. It would primarily cover imports covered by Chapter 84 and 85 of the Customs Tariff

Implementation e-Office in all the Zones from 15^th June, 2020 towards digitalization of the department work on the administrative side. 

This is expected to bring in transparency and scale-up activities for efficient delivery of services by digitizing the entire process of the files.

Other major important issues which were discussed were pertaining to CBLR and paperless initiatives on Export side.
